Abstract/Pitch

Dear authors and aspiring writers,  My name is Rose Cano, a student at Syracuse University and I am interested in your perspective regarding a project I am undergoing.  For this assignment, I am looking at how technology affects writers financially, creatively, along with other aspects as well. This is an important topic that is at the forefront of my curiosity because of the popularity of AI generators.  This project is for those actively in the field of literature and those who have dreams of doing so one day. My project focuses on the practical and creative implications, especially regarding AI, for both current and future writers. I would greatly appreciate your insights for this project! Thank you for your time, Rose Cano

Responses: - In recent years, it seems that younger generations have gone back to the physical books, - With the internet, there are many books illegally available for free online which affects the sales of physical books.  - Online books are very common, but physical books seem to be more prevalent than the online.  Because of the increase use of AI, how does this affect authors' creativity? Unit 1 Reflection

https://www.sheaws.com/benefits-of-using-a-technical-writer/ The inquiry of this class emphasized how writing and technology are related. Moreover, in today’s modern world, technology is in almost every aspect of our lives. From the moment we wake up, the first thing most people do is go on their phones. When people go to sleep, usually the last thing they do is scroll on their phones. Technology consumes humans.   After completing all of my source analysis, I look back at this inquiry with an expanded idea of technology’s effect on writing. My sources were high quality and varied in genres from school journalism to resea rch papers. All were found from the Syracuse library database which generated a plethora of articles from more casual writings to peer-reviewed papers. I chose these sources because two of them stuck with me for the culture that was displayed in them. For example, the paper by CE Noticias Financier as talked about “The corrido tumbado [...] is directly linke...

Unit 1 Portfolio (Curated Source Collection)

Source #1   Article: “A Pencil Shop, for Texting the Old-Fashioned Way”   Author: Molly Young   https://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/21/fashion/a-pencil-shop-for-texting-the-old-fashioned-way.html?ref=tmagazine   Photo: https://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/21/fashion/a-pencil-shop-for-texting-the-old-fashioned-way.html   This article looked at a unique store in Lower Manhattan that sold only pencils. It highlights the passion the owner, Caroline Weaver, has for something that most people would describe as dull. Pencils are overlooked, not used, and some may describe them as out of date. Although the author took on a challenge by choosing this store to write about. Young chose this and wrote to try and capture how something mundane as a pencil shop can be compelling. It is not jus t about how a store only sells pencils; it is about how there is something captivating about a unique passion. Especially since Young dug further to see the uniqueness of the shop, it...
