AI generative writing ...

This article by Arthur Franz analyzes the connection between AI generators like the popular ChatGPT and human writers. He does this by illustrating the similarity of the impact that the printing press had on writers in the 15th century. Franz took on the task of explaining to his audience that although technology, specifically AI generators have effects on modern-day writers, it can also be viewed as a tool that could improve the man made work.
Some key points that Franz emphasizes are the limitations of AI, the legal ethics, and of course its efficiency. AI

Source #1   Article: “A Pencil Shop, for Texting the Old-Fashioned Way”   Author: Molly Young     Photo: https://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/21/fashion/a-pencil-shop-for-texting-the-old-fashioned-way.html   This article looked at a unique store in Lower Manhattan that sold only pencils. It highlights the passion the owner, Caroline Weaver, has for something that most people would describe as dull. Pencils are overlooked, not used, and some may describe them as out of date. Although the author took on a challenge by choosing this store to write about. Young chose this and wrote to try and capture how something mundane as a pencil shop can be compelling. It is not jus t about how a store only sells pencils; it is about how there is something captivating about a unique passion. Especially since Young dug further to see the uniqueness of the shop, its meaning to the owner, and its effect on others.   The genre of this article is a display of journalism b...

Unit 2 Library

For my library experience, I went to Bird Library on campus to check out a book called "The History of Popes" by Ludwig von Pastor. This book stuck out to me because I just recently watched the movie Conclave  which was very interesting to me.  Regarding technology, it certainly affects my relationship with the library because I almost never go and check out a book there unless I am told to. If I need a book, my first step is to look online for a free version online, then if I cannot do that, I look somewhere else online for cheap purchase. I never go to a library to see if they have a physical book there.  Especially with a book like "The History of Popes", that is something I would just look up on my own instead of going to the library to read a book about the popes from 1755 to 1799. This book struck my interest because it is not something that I know a ton about. I am very into my faith and devoted to living according to my morals. Although I do not know much ab...

Graphic Novels

I chose the "Nat Turner" graphic novel by Kyle Baker because I am interested in history. I have read similar passages in one of my english classes last year and just wanted to expand on my knowledge on this. Since it is a graphic novel, I read the entire book because it was a very easy read.  The book started by showing how slaves were taken from their homeland and brought to the US on the ships. This graphic novel encapsulates the inhumane conditions the slaves had to endure. At one point, there was a baby thrown overboard on the ship which is very unfortunate. It then shows how brutal the slaves were treated on the plantations as well. There were some graphics like being whipped and the overseers would throw salt on the wounds. Throughout this imagery, the novel shows the slaves conspiring a rebellion. Through their facial expressions and their sneaky actions. It then goes into their rebellion. One particular scene that caught my attention was when the slaves contemplated k...
